Today's World of Photography

One of the most prominent changes that the photography sector has experienced was the replacement of film in storing images with digital sensors and memory sticks. Yet, with the new technology of combining computing with photography, it is again beginning to change the industry. One of the most significant advancements that this technology can produce is the creation of three-dimensional images as a representation of a scene, rather than just two-dimensions like with the traditional process. Just like any change that has been introduced to humanity, there will be tough times within the first few months of the introduction. Yet, experts still foresee great new changes and endless possibilities of new and creative things to happen.

More advanced possibilities will emerge in the near future including higher end digital cameras with features that can perform automatic correction of chromatic aberration and other issues that can be related to the setting of the lens when the picture was taken. Another related technology is the refocus imaging, wherein data files that have been produced with the use of a digital camera can be made to focus on another part of the photo so it can bring a background image into focus so a people can see what it is. This concept is based on what experts call a light field, which is the richer description of light that enters into a camera lens. They also foresee that this technology will be built into a camera making this device much more sophisticated and intelligent.
